307 – Game Over!

Audio

Well, this is awkward. Over two months ago, we announced that we were bringing the Game Over! Retry? podcast to a close. At the end of May, we recorded our final episode, with special guests John Kooistra and Adam Blanchard, and then the recording sat on Jon’s computer collecting proverbial dust while life happened and time passed. But finally, we have the very last episode of Game Over! Retry? edited and ready for your listening “pleasure”.

In this very special episode, we reflect on what made this show so special to us and some of our listeners. And because everyone has checked out, censorship was thrown completely out the window. We won’t spoil it for you. You need to listen to this. The content is definitely NSFW, but you’re here, so chances are, you knew that already.

We want to thank everyone who has ever listened to our show, or liked us on Facebook. When we started doing this, we weren’t sure if anyone would listen. While we didn’t become Podcast Rockstars (that’s a thing right?), we did end up growing a small, but dedicated audience of listeners. That’s more than we could have ever dreamt of, and its your support that carried us through each and every episode.

Finally, this isn’t an absolute goodbye. We still exist somewhere on the interwebs, and as each of us move onto bigger and better things, we’ll be sure to share them with each other, and with you.

So please, sit back and enjoy this very special, highly entertaining, last episode of GOR, and thanks for putting up with our collective bullshit 😉

GOR306 – Kisses from Harold

Audio

Listen to this episode, where Harold gave us all kisses. And his “good bar”. Along with some “peanut butter cups”. I don’t know where I’m going with this. Harold brought in a box of chocolate, and we shared it so we could deliver some tough news. There was a little talk about Sloppy Toad. That’s NOT a sex move, surprisingly. We talked about “how to go indie” (not exactly). And more chocolate was consumed.

It’s snowy in Toronto. You may very well be snowed in. You might even be reading this from Florida (or Flo Rida’s). Whatever the weather is like, you should sit down and listen to this podcast. In this episode, Jon starts playing Firewatch, and that spirals into a big debate about VR and … sigh … walking. Jason has gripes about Fallout 4, and Harold becomes the new Jason.

GOR302 – The Fried Chicken of Gaming

Comfort food. It’s what you makes you feel better when you’re under the weather. It’s what you crave after a stressful week at work. It’s the thing you needed when Tommy Hunkerson dumped you right before the prom. So the million dollar question is: when Harold is sick, stressed, or dumped by Tommy Hunkerson, does he play Assassin’s Creed: Rogue?

Ahoy! Welcome, to the TERROR DOME!!!! In our first episode of 2016, Jon, Jason, and Harold share what they got up to over the holidays and start the new season with a Rolling Start … except without dice, we couldn’t really roll anything. We came up with three epic games: Bearly Rotating, Huge Jack Men: VR Missions, and Backers of Kim Jong Un. They are EXACTLY whatever you think they are. Also in this episode, Jason FINALLY finishes Starcraft 2, and Harold is terrible at Rainbow Six Siege.

GOR S2E13 – Inside Out, Forward & Backward

We’re full swing into November, which is the best and worst time to be a gamer. Best, because there are SO MANY OPTIONS … worst, because there are SO MANY OPTIONS. This week, Harold shares his experience streaming games for the Extra Life charity, and gives us a look into the fun and frustration of Mario Maker. Jason is playing Starcraft 2 … Wings of Liberty (he’s a little behind), and feeling uneasy about running through the game on easy, just to finish the story. Jon, as expected, is playing Fallout 4, and can’t wait to see the ridiculous structures players are going to make with the in-game building crafting system. We also travel back in time to show nazi’s our super rad 90s tech, and there’s talk of underwear, and “Singing Tourette’s”. All par for the course on this week’s Game Over! Retry?
